New flowers every day

My hanging fuchsia started to flower again! Not bad for the end of September.

Not quite autumn yet

The garden is still green and the summer flowers are going strong. I cut down the violets I had in pots in the summer and replanted them into the ground about a month ago and now they are flowering even better than before.

Lets hope for a long and warm autumn (and the shortest winter, ever!).

Damson fever

There is going to be only a few damsons this year. At the cottage there are none but at Vårkulla one branch bears fruits.

Lichen looks rather glamorous when potted in a beautiful vase.

Filing for divorce

Do you think 25 euros is too much for an old iron coffee grinder? Neither did I. Luckily my husband had a stack of old singles in his hand and they were priced at 20 euros - he got the singles and I the grinder and the marriage was saved.

Button it up

Old buttons in their original cardboard cases - just had to have them for our shop museum collection. The seller wanted to sell only the buttons but we talked her over and bought the boxes and paper bags, too.

Young dreams

I didn't know there were Finnish teen magazines in the 50's. But there were, obviously, and now we have a couple, too.

Coq au vine

One more tray for our bar collection. The tray was really dirty and scratched but after my husband cleaned it up and waxed it with car wax, it looks great.

Are they diseased?

I got these acorn squash from my aunt Ulla. I don't know if you can eat them, I won't, I'll just use them as decorations.

Five a day

Carrot is a vegetable and vegetables are good for you. With me so far? Well, then a piece of carrot cake must also be good for one, mustn't it? By the way, I am looking for pastry forks, if you know good looking ones, let me know. Now we have to use spoons and that is just tragic :)

I just don't know

I bought this green "thing" for the garden - I don't know what it is and the seller didn't know either. Well, whatever, it looks good and will look even better when I buy three heathers and put them into the cups.

One more, once more

We have (again) a "new" record player. I don't know how many we already have and don't want to know as I am afraid I'm going to start seeing red.

Gone with the wind

I brought the cow-rooster weather vane from the cottage to Vårkulla. At the cottage it hardly ever moved but as it is very windy at Vårkulla, now it has to work for living.

Cheap pleasure

Three for ten euros and the chrysanthemums were mine.

An apple a day

These apples look better than they are...there is not one edible fruit in our tree this year. On the other hand, there are more apples than ever. Not a great year, this, applewise.

Higher and higher

Even though we are tall, at home we still need a ladder to reach the highest shelves of our bookcase. We have been on a lookout for a suitable ladder for ages and now we found one at last at our neighborhood facebook fleamarket: old and tarnished = just perfect.

Can't beat this one
